Since its establishment in 1998 the fund has provided scholarships in Galen's name for high school graduates interested in pursuing studies in the theater arts at a college level.

As the endowment grows, the trustees hope to expand the activities of the Galen Gibson Fund into supporting conflict resolution and threat assessment programs in New England high schools.
